Conquered ... I’m baaaaccckkkk. Actually I was back couple a days ago, but only now I got the time to sit and write about the trip. Yeah I’m back, that’s rite, back to the stress n tension of the real world. Same old tension at home n the ever increasing work load in the office. Anyway, the trip was excellent. I had a great time, the 5 days spent in Sabah was simply superb. It was trip filled with challenges. However not all the challenges can be considered as real challenges, for example my first challenge ;) The first challenge was to get my ass in to Sabah in one piece. Well, being my first trip on a plane, I was tad bit nervous about the whole thing. But hey, it was not all that bad. The flight itself was pretty smooth, so no complains there. Infact I enjoyed my trip back, I feel the best part of the whole flying affair is the take off part. Quick recap on wat I did while I was in Sabah, went to Manukan Island, hiked Mt. Kinabalu (all the way to the top.) and did white water rafting. The island trip was ok2, nothing like the one I went in Thailand or Tioman, but it was a good thing, a good rest before the big hiking expedition. The climb to Mt. Kinabalu was a exciting aand painful at the same time. But I think it was worth the time, energy and pain I had to endure. The view from top there is simply superb, one have to be there to really experience the scenery as words don’t quite come close to describing the view. Apart from the view, the weather up there is nothing to talk about, infact it is something I don't want to talk about. Well, it’s a bitch, more like it. It was soo freaking cold up there, some of us estimated it to be somewhere in the region of 5 – 10 degrees celcius. After a while, I couldn’t feel my fingers or my nose. The chill still got to me though I was wearing 3 layers of thick clothes, snow cap and also pair of thick gloves. We reached rite to the top about 7 in the morning. We spent roughly about 20 mins plus up there before we began our journey back down. N yeah, I got myself a cert saying that I made it rite to the top. :D Well after the trip down, I could barely walk. It took me about 3 days to be able to walk properly. Being fit for this trip is just part of the game, the other half is entirely on one's mental strength. I feel that my mental strength is the one which got me to the top n not my fitness level.
The next day we went white water rafting in Sg. Padas. I loved it. It was a whole day thing. Though my legs were sore from the hiking it was an extremely fun event. Being the city boy I am, never got the opportunity to swim in a river, so it was all new experience for me. Only when I reached back to the hotel that evening, I was told there are crocodiles in the river. Though they’ve never attacked humans before, it’s not a comforting thought to know that I might have been swimming among one of them. There u go, a quick update on my adventure trip to Sabah. Well, if u want more details on it, I’m always free for a cup of coffee, during which I can give u the whole indepth analysis of my trip. :D Hmmm, my next outing would be to Frasers hill in less then a week. Well that’s going to b more of a machans get together trip with lots of thanni and unstable minds. More then all this outing, I'm actually yearning for a conversation, for a meeting.
