Car interest…
I’ve been into cars nowadays. What that means? Well, I’ve got this sudden interest in learning about car maintenance n other related stuff. All this started thanks to my bro. He bought this really2 old Mini. The car is much older then I am, it’s about 30 year old. But hey, it was a bargain, he got the car for rm 650, so I personally think that it’s worth the money. However my dad doesn’t think so, he’s been making noise since the day the car my bro the car home. Anyway, the car is actually in running condition but needs some work to be done it. Being the handy guy in the family (being the marine engineer), he’s doing up the car on his own, i.e, he has completely stripped the car off it’s engine n everything else, n working on the car from scratch. So looking at him working on the car with such dedication kinda put me in a situation of wanting to learn up a thing or two about cars.
So I made the big step today. Step in the direction of teaching myself about cars. Went to my uncle’s workshop n helped him repairing cars. Well, he did the repairing, n I was the dude who handles the tools for him, n carry stuff. Years of typing on the keyboard n not touching spanners n other tools made it really hard for me. Kept hurting myself the entire day. But nevertheless it was quite an experience, having ur hands dirty 3 quarter of the time with grease and oils was not too pleasant at first, but I got used to it. The work itself was backbreaking. Had to carry heavy stuff n hold them in place so that he can fix it to the car.
Today we worked on Proton Putra in which I had opportunity to test drive, n I didn’t waste the opportunity. Drove like a mad fella, the car didn’t dissapoint me at all, it had all the power I wanted n more which I didn’t quite dare to touch. Anyway, promised my uncle that I’ll be with him on weekends to help him, n he was cool with it. Hmmm, I’ve successfully enrolled my self under his wing. His protégé ? Well, I’ll need to wait damnnn long for that.
